Language Ab Initio

Language B

Q : What do I need to upload after conducting the Ab Initio Individual Oral ?
A : Teachers must upload every student's IA grade and PG on IBIS.  The system will then generate a list of candidates whose samples need to be submitted, together with the visual stimuli and a brief description of how the marks were awarded.
Q : How much prior knowledge should Language B students have in order to qualify for the course ?

A : Language B students should, typically, have a minimum of two years of prior study (or significant exposure) in the target language.  A student who can successfully complete a Language Ab Initio assessment is ready for the Language B course.  The choice between SL and HL depends on a number of factors, including level of proficiency, personal interest, DP subject combination etc.
